citizens whose lives have been trashed by our own political inaction.
I feel like this is such a prevalent piece of a dystopian story because regular citizens feel like for the most part governments don't hear them.

Possibly more like indulgence, and creation of a sense of comparative safety.
Books/ stories sometimes can create a false sense of safety. Off top of my head I can think of one story we reference a lot, The Terminator, that we don't have a sense of comparative safety. As technology advances, humans fear technology turning against us because it would have all the knowledge to best us.
Dystopia is very clearly a kind of satire.
I agree with this because the dystopias that are depicted in movies today are an exaggerated outcome following certain decisions. These outcomes are the result of the people with power making decisions without everyone's input.
when men live with no other security but what theirown strength and ingenuity provides them with.
This is why people like patterns because its predictable and provides comfort, war and chaos disrupt predictability.
As for •the faculties of the mind: I find that men are evenmore equal in these than they are in bodily strength.
I agree with this because men make the same mistakes and decisions time and time again. Humans think they can always solve the problem or invent new ways to make things faster and easier, when sometimes we just can't. The phrase history repeats itself is a very good example here.
n order to limit the instruments forcomplex and critical reasoning.
If it's simple and straight to the point, there is no reason to think about it in another way. Or to even spend time thinking about it because there is no need to understand.
In 1942, at the age of ten, I received the First Provincial Award of Ludi Juveniles (avoluntary, compulsory competition for young Italian Fascists
Age ten is very young and it reminds me of the movie Jojo Rabbit. The movie takes place during the fall of Nazi Germany from the point of view of a 10 year old boy. He was in a junior group of the Hitler Youth. Controlled information fed to the young will usually result in blind loyalty.
Man has, as it were, become a kind of prosthetic God.
If anything I would say that man has made prosthetic gods. technology and media for example. When I say technology I am talking about digital tech. This makes me think of the show American Gods.
seems certain that we do not feel comfortable in our present-day civilization, but it is very difficult to form an opinion whether and in what degree men of an earlier age felt happier and what part their cultural conditions played in the matter
I feel like we are not comfortable in civilization today because we are not present in our everyday lives. We are always trying to capture something so that it can be a life long memory, instead of actually enjoying the moment. Simplicity is the most natural way to live and sometimes adding things like technology can hinder rather than help.
A social group is a collective of persons differentiated from at least one other group by cultural forms, practices, or way of li:fe
The movie The High Rise, is a perfect example of how social groups are separated. A whole bunch of people live in a high rise apartment complex from and each floor is separated based on how much money you have. The better your job, education, and family ties, determines how high a floor your on.
