I am shocked to hear this statistic. I can't believe the justice system uses plea bargains so often that in that span of time in AZ they had no trials.

This is scary to think about. Unfortunately, I have seen this first hand with a friend of mine who was wrongly accused, and after hours of police interrogation and without an attorney to protect him under his rights, he admitted guilty for a crime he did. to commit. And then once he entered the court trial, his attorney encouraged him to take a plea, he did and is now serving 8 more years for a crime he pleaded guilty to because of his own ignorance and naive thinking. This just points out, that you have to be smart and not admit guilt for a crime if you did not commit it. And lastly, don't count on you r lawyer to do what is best for you, you have to be your own advocate.

I feel like this can be part of the "why do I care?" What is the point?" from the section from our reading of "They Say, I Say" book. This a fact, but why is it important to point out what could or could not be viewed as racial inequality? Unless I read too much into that sentence. I just don't feel it is necessary to point out. The facts still remain the same, but the reader doesn't need to consider racial inequality in order to understand the issues plea bargains have.

seeing this so close to where we live is sad. SF needs a backbone and needs more SFPD support, these petty crimes and grand theft auto crimes being committed is ongoing. Gov. Newsome needs to step it up and stop turning cheek. There is no reason for criminals to be fearful of getting caught. Therefore, this will continue to be an issue.

This makes me wonder if mental health is a key reason for this cause of violence. It's becoming more and more common for young kids to obtain guns. How does this keep happening? Where is the accountability within the household?

This reminded me of my time living in Las Vegas. Las Vegas hosted the NBA All-Star game. During the weekend the crime and looting that took place over the weekend skyrocketed, so much that the mayor Oscar Goodman, vowed never to host another NBA All-Star game again.
