Make your own board game
I think that it would eb fun to include the student in the making of the board game so that they feel more involved with the material.

Creative Ways to Carry Over Learning
I wonder how this could be added to higher level students like high school becuase in high school you at least had the walks in between periods for socializing with friends and to stretch. I hope that we can make sure that older students are getting the exercise they need as well
Teachers report that it is not uncommon for students who excel in math to complain about “word problems.”
It is important that we make sure that they are able to read as it can bleed into other areas like math with this example
“Reading is important, because if you can read, you can learn anything about everything and everything about anything.”
I think this is a really good quote that showcases the importance of reading
think it’s just important that we’re honest about the size of the problem
It's very important that everyone is made aware of how big of a problem this is especially for lower income areas and that we all do the best we can.
older students will not have time to recover their lost academic ground before they’re expected to enter the workforce.
I wonder about this as well because my younger brother was in high school during covid and 3 of his 4 years of high school were at least partially online so he never got back the time he missed.
n some states in India, Mexico, and Brazil, students have lost a full year of academic progress
This is just further exemplifies the gap in low and high income that was talked about earlier.
I think at that scale, it’s hard to find something that reaches that in recent history,
It makes a lot of sense that they are completely at a loss since there is nothing in recent memory that can show how to prepare for that many students not being in school.
have found their effects can linger for years
I would love to see the lingering effects that the teacher strikes had in Belgium and Argentina.
seem to have been successful in avoiding further learning deficits as the pandemic continued, but they did not succeed in recovering the learning deficits that arose early in the pandemic,
It's crazy to me that we have put so much effort in helping the students catch up and all we've done is stop the bleeding.
Gaps between low-income children and their wealthier classmates also have widened worldwide
Something i hadn't thought of was the class gap since higher income students would have more/better access to the Internet and resources that would help during the pandemic than poorer students.
15 high- and middle-income countries, including the United States,
I wish they had listed all the countries they analyzed
a loss equal to some 35 percent of a typical school year’s progress,
it's crazy that we lost a third of the year to the pandemic
