    1. Make the curriculum student-centered

      Making projects and assignments student-centered is something we spent a long time learning about in the class integration of technology. Student-centered learning allows the student to decide what material they learn and how they learn it. This will increase student engagement and improve their attitudes towards learning.

    1. I am constantly learning to challenge my position in the world, and understand the power imbalances that I am a part of.

      This quote by the author reminds me of the ted talk video, "Your privilege is showing" because it is important to understand that there are systems of oppression that we are all apart of even if we like to believe that we aren't. And it is important to learn about how we are involved in these systems so we can actively try to change them.

    2. My profession puts me in the position of assisting individuals who are in need of resources, and who are often facing economic, educational, and environmental conditions different than my own.

      The author points out that it is important to acknowledge ones own privilege's and also learn how to use it appropriately. As a teacher I will have students in my class who come from different backgrounds and will not have the same privilege that I was afforded so it is my job to understand how to best accommodate and help these students.
