    1. The question being investigated in this essay is whether information ethics is culture-relative. In answering this question, it has to be kept in mind that the principal aims of information ethics are not descriptive, but normative and evaluative. That is, its principal aim is not to describe existing morality regarding information but rather to morally evaluate information practices and to prescribe and justify moral standards and principles for practices involving the production, consumption or processing of information.

One of the biggest issues in cultural differences is cultural practices. For some, these cultural practices are important to them and for those who don't do cultural practices wonders why the purpose of it or feel odd for them to do practices which can rub the people the wrong way. My culture have practices which involves us wearing certain types of clothing which we tend to have people question them, while I don't mind it, I know some people who find it insulting.

    1. By acknowledging cultural relativism, we can recognize that our culture shapes what we consider to be beautiful, ugly, appealing, disgusting, virtuous, funny, and abhorrent. It shapes what we consider to be good and bad art, music, and film, as well as what we consider to be tasteful or tacky consumer goods.

I like this statement because culture differences is something that we need to be aware of and respectful of as when it comes to interacting with people around the world things tend to get ugly as we can probably come across some disagreements on some things due to cultural reasons. Because of this people tend to get the wrong idea and believe that person is being disrespectful.

    1. In this study, we try to look at the term “social” in a social media context and exploreits relationship with two other important terms: information and interactivity. We start byexploring the characteristics of “information” in a socialmedia environment, then focus onthree research approaches to interactivity, and finally suggest an alternative explanation and amodel to determine what is “social” in a social media environment.

When Social Media was created, the main purpose of this feature was for people to connect and interact with friends and families from far distance. While I agree that there some arguments can be made of social media being considered as "social" like people using it more as business or just to look at other people information rather than interacting with others, I still think it can be considered as social.

    1. Technological devices are a complex of the materialsubstances and artifacts out of which things are made, the skills and techniquesrequired to make and use things, the ends and functions that things serve, andthe social contexts of development, production, distribution, and administrationin which things are made and used.

This ties with what Dash said in the podcast "Understand and control and make decisions around these new technologies." This quote describes what technologies are and how they function which was Dash was trying to say how people need to focus on understanding how technologies work and how they can impact their lives.

    2. Human ends and values direct technologicalprocesses, making them an entirely human affair. These human concerns aredesigned into things; our technologies embody our humanity. It is more helpful tothink of technology as a socially constructed reality rather than as the applicationof universally valid scientific principles. That way we can begin to appreciate—and criticize—how the things we make are human creations that, in turn, greatlyaffect human affairs.

This caught my attention because technology has become a part of our daily lives and to say that "technology embody our humanity" is kinda of true. Also the part of the quote "Think of technology as a socially constructed reality" reminds me of one of the question that we had to answer: Why is it important to study ethics and technology? Because technology has become a platform for us as a community to connect with each other whether it's for business or personal reasons.
