The question being investigated in this essay is whether information ethics is culture-relative. In answering this question, it has to be kept in mind that the principal aims of information ethics are not descriptive, but normative and evaluative. That is, its principal aim is not to describe existing morality regarding information but rather to morally evaluate information practices and to prescribe and justify moral standards and principles for practices involving the production, consumption or processing of information.
One of the biggest issues in cultural differences is cultural practices. For some, these cultural practices are important to them and for those who don't do cultural practices wonders why the purpose of it or feel odd for them to do practices which can rub the people the wrong way. My culture have practices which involves us wearing certain types of clothing which we tend to have people question them, while I don't mind it, I know some people who find it insulting.
