    1. A research question is the pivot of the essay: it decides the approach, the strategy and the feasibility of the study. This chapter separates aim, objective, question and hypothesis, presents the shapes a question can take, and shows the five ways in which questions fail — and how each failure is corrected. Real research questions from the papers read in this course serve as the reference; the chapter ends with the question–strategy fit that the following chapters develop.

Unclear if the verse talks about research paper or a essay. There is a clear difference between essay and research paper. A research paper according to the lecture notes is "To produce new knowledge or solve an unresolved problem through systematic investigation". Research paper does consist of aim, objective, research question and hypothesis.

In essays the student own opinions are welcomed whereas in research paper there is no room for that. According to purdue university essay is the converse of research paper. :https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/general_writing/academic_writing/essay_writing/index.html

    1. The funnel narrows in three steps. A topic is a broad area of interest, such as “password security”.

Should be referenced. Where is the direct citation comes from. It is difficult for the reader to understand which of the references in the reference list this citation comes from.

    2. Research for practice has a long history in our field. McAfee and Brynjolfsson (2008) argued in the Harvard Business Review that competition in IT-intensive industries had accelerated since the mid-1990s — winners pull away faster and leaders change more often — because enterprise IT lets a firm replicate a better process across the whole organisation at once.

This is a very long sentence and divided with hypens. Perhaps shorten the sentences and divide it with . or , instead. Example: McAfee and Brynjolfsson (2008) argued in the Harvard Business Review that competition in IT-intensive industries had accelerated since the mid-1990s. Winners pull away faster and leaders more often. The reason could be that enterprise IT lets a firm replicate a better process across the whole organisation at once.

    3. Oates organises the whole of research around six aspects that every study has, whether or not the author has thought about them: purpose, products, process, participants, paradigm and presentation.

Should be a hyperlink to the reference list so that it is easier to for the reader to follow and factcheck the sentence with the source.

    4. A published study then illustrates all six. It then turns to the products: the forms a contribution to knowledge can take, from a taxonomy to a confirmed model, and the difference between descriptive and prescriptive knowledge.

      Needs referencing which published study?

    1. n contrast, Mayer, Baygi and Buwalda (2025) studied one consultancy with semi-structured interviews, first with entry-level professionals and later with senior consultants and managers, using job crafting as a theoretical lens.

The references should be hyperlinked so that it would be possible to click on it and get moved to the reference in the sources section.

    2. Creswell’s point is that these are not two boxes but the ends of a continuum: a study sits somewhere on it, and it tends towards one end more than the other. The core ideas differ.

There is no source here so how can I see Creswell's point? Or which of his points?

    3. Qualitative research refers to an approach for exploring and understanding the meaning that individuals or groups ascribe to a social or human problem, with data collected in the participants’ setting and analysed inductively.

      Needs referencing

    4. Quantitative research refers to an approach for testing objective theories by examining the relationships among measurable variables, yielding numerical data that are analysed with statistics.

      Should be referenced

    5. Last session settled that research is the creation of new knowledge through a systematic process, open to criticism.

Should be referenced? Perhaps a reference to a source that explains what research is? Or maybe referenced to the "Last session"? Cause it is not clear which session it is talked about here.

    1. The participation component, 20 % of the grade, is earned by annotating this script — questions, corrections and examples posted in the course group, not by speaking in the discussions; a small group project counts for another 20 %, and the essay for 60 %, of which 40 % is the written report and 20 % its presentation and discussion in the oral exam.

So this information lacks 2 information elements. First one is that there is one obligatory assignment which the students has to pass in order to get a grade at all. Also it does not state that the annotation of this script has to be passed in order to get a grade at all.

Second is that: Are all the essays obligatory to pass the subject? Meaning is it possible to just do the script part along with the first assignment and the one of the essays? Which gives a total of 20%+30%=50%=D? Or does every single assignment need to get a pass in order to get a grade?

    2. Both layouts are about ten pages, may be written alone or in a group of two or three, in English or Norwegian, and must state which AI tools were used and for what.

Here UiA's AI guidelines should be referenced. UiA's AI guidelines state that the use of AI needs to be written.
