The song demons is about pain, misery and love, which is about a person acknowledging not only that he’s evil but also most of the rest of us. He also wants to protect this loved one in the song, trying to save and preserve her innocence from the “demons.” In other words, in the song he is trying to save her from becoming like the persona and the rest. The song also talks about hot people these days are “the worst of all” and all “made of greed.”

The word “unless” show that the persona still has a bit of hope in himself that he can change for the better and escape leave his demons behind him. He thinks that his loved one show show him the way out of his darkness and misery.

This tells me how the persona once had hopes and dreams that he wanted to achieve in his life. The words “all fail” shows that all his hopes and dreams were crushed and destroyed, with a very unlikely chance of those dreams and aspires to come true. Those words also tell me how he has done everything he could to achieve his goals but no matter what he tries to do, “all” his attempts on his dreams fail.

This also tells me that the persona wants to protect his “save” his loved one from all the demons in the world and including his.

The word “woven” tells me that the persona feels like he cannot escape the demons inside him and they are constantly with him. The words “in my soul” tells me how the demons are very deep in his heart and in his “soul,” which is why the persona cannot escape them.

This word used by the persona shows that the persona thinks that the people around him are pretending to be good but inside they are full of sins which they try to hide from the rest of the world. This means that they are “fakes” that fake their personality and their lives to hide their true selves.

The phrase “when the lights fade out,” which is a use of a diction, is the persona talking about how when people stop trying to look for evil in the world, and there world goes dark, meaning that people can’t see anything anymore. After this, the persona says that “all the sinners crawl,” this means that the people who have committed bad things are taking this chance to come out.

This phrase could mean that the persona is trying to say that the curtains are closing and that the show is almost over, and that people are trying to hide to the world of who they truly are deep down by trying to “close the curtain.”

From the phrase, “don’t get too close,” i can infer that the persona is trying to protect and shield the person he loves from his demons by not letting that person close to him, which is him once again showing care and concern, not wanting anything bad to happen to the person. From the persona saying “its dark inside,” tells me that he feels that his heart is full of negativity like depression and sadness.

This phrase refers to all the bad and negative things about the persona, simbolising that inside, he is not what he seems on the outside and is full of these “demons.” The word “hide” tells me that these “demons” are not permanently inside of him, and can lash out and cause damage to the things or people around him. The word also tells me that the “demons” are trying not to be noticed or seen by other people, possibly waiting for the right time to strike. Which means the persona might suddenly feel a lot of strong emotions to do things he would not want to do with a clear mind and heart.

This tells me that the persona is talking to another person, probably a person who he really cares about and does not want the person to go through what the persona is going through or what the persona says about the painful things in the world which nobody would want to go through. The words “hide the truth” shows care and concern the persona has for the reader, it also shows how the truths that he knows are devastating to hear and he does not want that particular person to know about the harsh things in the world. The words “shelter you,” shows how the persona wants to protect this person from the things he has experienced and all the pain he has went through. This shows that the persona want to protect and preserve the innocence of the person.

The usage of the word “blood”, could be the persona referring to the spirits and passion that the people around him have. The words “run stale” could mean that the people have no more passion and could also mean that they are “dead” and the opposite of lively. This whole phrase could also mean that he is realising that the people around him are like “zombies,” having no passion and liveliness that are just doing things for the sake of doing it.

This tells me that the people that the persona had looked up to and the people who he admires and aspires to be like certain celebrities have failed to be a good role model. The words “worst of all,” tells me that he found out that the people he had looked up to the most turned out to be a bad influence, like they were hiding their true side of themselves.

The words “when the days” shows that the days he has gone through are recently are “cold,” which means that he is going through pain and misery. The word “When,” shows that the persona is in a period of time when he is going through struggle and suffering. This also tells me how he is going through days of darkness and depression.

By then persona saying that his cards fold, this is a use of a diction, which is implying that just like in a board game, the “cards” he has put down in his life has failed him and he has to withdraw his hands in defeat.
