      People have a tendency to want things done for them, and as a result we do less for ourselves (things like building houses, cooking food, etc) but we lose motivation and drive in other areas as well when this happens

      While the WELLS community seems wonderful, it is interesting to think about how many people dedicate hours of their lives to it- especially when considering the push we see now that encourages younger generations to use less technology and be more involved in immediate surroundings.

    1. Nobody is anonymous.

      I think this is important. It is easy for people to be disruptive/hurtful when they otherwise wouldn't be because they believe they are anonymous. Not allowing anonymity promotes a safer environment.

    1. Within hours, people started doing things in half a dozen directions on their own initiative.

      This reminds me of GoFundMe, except it is more spectacular because of the bonds that had been formed and the desire to step up for someone many had not met face to face. It shows how strong the WELL community is..
