    1. today no organization can achieve results without incorporating technology into every aspect of its everyday practices.

I think this part shows technology being a sleeping giant because when it wakes up you never know what is going to happen. Just like technology you never know what is going to happen next there are so many different things that are coming out that you couldn't have even imagined. It refers back to the sleeping giant by the giant being something we do not know about because we don't see them on a regular basis.

    1. can all benefit from thinking like engineers

I would use this because I think the people can always benefit from learning or thinking like someone else. I ts is like the saying don't judge me until you have walked a mile in my shoes. If you try to think like an engineer than you might benefit. Not saying that they are smarter than you but it might help to think like someone else.

    1. Students should understand the attitude and it may influence teacher, and should understand the term of “attention” because it may formthe attitudes.

Attitude is a big component when dealing with technology. Why you may ask well it is like everything you do in life if you do not like it more than likely you will stop doing it or walk away from it. For the technology part even people who do not like technology still need to look at it in a positive way or else they will not learn from it and it will not help you in the long run. With students world being run by technology teachers need to be familiar with it and also understand that even if they do not like I they still must use and teach from it. I do think that this research can play a role in other aspects of education. Learning in general you need to have a interest or at least try to be engaged. I have learned over my years in school that relating what you are learning to your own life makes you retain the information a little easier.

    1. existing jobs are also going through a change in the skill sets required to do them.

In my opinion I do and don't think education should adapt to the changes that are starting to occur in their work places. One reason being is personal, I like taking test on paper I've been doing that way ever since preschool and now they want test to be online. Not that I'm against computers but it is harder to read off of I think and I like to have something physical in my hand. As the technology industry grow I think we need to grow with it as well. Just by knowing how to use it and teaching others how to as well. Then again I like the old school styles of teaching with dry erase boards and pencil and paper rather than a computer or iPad especially with the young students the technology would be a huge distraction and would probably be better to introduce it to them in middle school.

    1. "I would like to see both men and women be held to the same standards of intellectual ability and providing a challenge, but also mentoring and support

First I really like this comment because most of what is said in the article above is negative towards women teachers. It makes them look more inferior. When looking at the graphs it shows how they are always more strict than males and that males get more credit for being "Brilliant" which is not fair. All teachers have their different strengths and weaknesses but that doesn't mean that one gender is more powerful or smarter than the other.

    2. Why, then, do adolescents still make so many bad choices?

I would not consider the choices adolescents make not bad choices but that they are just growing up and trying to figure out what they are doing. Personally I think the choices people make is what is shaping them into the person they will be as they grow older.

    3. But changes in the brain that lead to the famously bad choices of adolescence don't start at 16 or 17 years old. They start around 11 or 12 and the beginning of puberty.

I agree and disagree the statement I highlighted because I do think that bad choices that you do when you're does start with you when you are younger because I have seen a lot of people that start out making bad choices when they are young and it move with them as they grow up. On the other hand I do not believe it it true because personally when I was a child I used to be a bad kid always getting in trouble and doing bad things and then I got to high school and changed around my attitude and became the person who I am today. So I can see both side of this but I think it is based off of the person.

    1. Teachers’ attitudes toward computers have been thesubject of prior studies

Integrating technology into the gifted program is just something that is bound to happen eventually. There has been a rise in technology since we were little and there has been more and more. Allow these students to get started early is going to widen their options later down the road. There are also new ways of learning on technology. It is hard though to get the gifted kids involved with technology if their teacher is not vary familiar with it or if they do not like using it as a teaching method, which is not always fair to their students. Personally I am kind of glad that computers in schools came out after I left because I like everything old school on paper so that I can physical hold it or ask questions if need. On the other hand growing up where that is all you know can benefit jobs later down the road because you'll be ahead of everyone else since you started at such a young age.

    2. Because many giftedstudents will be tomorrow’s leaders in technologyand other disciplines that utilize technology,

I am not the biggest fan of how this is worded because sometimes it is not only the students in the gifted program that will be leaders and succeed. That is how I interpreted this part in the article anyhow. I think gifted kids do really well when it comes to schooling, but even the kids who do not use their talents to their full potentials can also be leaders in technology. Sometimes you just have to be willing to give the non gifted kids a chance.

    1. As we have every reason to believe that the numbers of online students and classes, and therefore instructors, will continue to grow

This makes me think that if they number of online classes keep growing that soon there won't be a need for teachers. With my online classes sure we need the teachers still because they plan out what we due and the assignment times and everything. What happens though when computers due that or they just need one teacher to be in control of 50 classes with the same curriculum. I know right now this seems kind of far fetched, but what if?

    2. The number of students taking at least one online course increased from the previous year by over 570,000 to a new total of 6.7 million

My online identity has increased so much from when I was in elementary school. When I started out in the first grade we would read books and take quizzes online. A few years down the road smart boards came out and it was like woah. We would even have to help the teachers learn how to use them. Now that I am in college I have my own personal computer that I couldn't go a day without. I took an online class over the summer, currently taking an online class, and most of my other classes always assign online work. Growing up in the this time frame I've had to adapt to everything thrown my way. Even though I am still not the best at using technology I am still always learning.

    1. Sit in the front of the room to avoid distractionand away from doors or windows where action takes place. Sit away from wall maps or bulletin boards.

I got V=7 A=1 K=6. I think I am more of a visual learner though because once I see something done in front of me first hand I can normally pick it up pretty easily. The portion I highlighted is big for me if I sit near a window or something with the slightest bit of writing or movement I get distracted. It says that I am almost an kinesthetic learner too and I agree with only some of the points. Where it says take courses with labs and field trips because those courses are more hands on and you learn more by doing activities rather than just listening. In my room I have even moved my desk to face the wall instead of the window so I can focus for longer periods of time.

    1. Last year I stayed after school every night for two weeks trying to learn the names of the presidents.

When the narrator says the quote above where they stayed after school every night for two weeks makes me think that staying after school and being in the class room to learn the presidents helped a lot. Reason why I think this is because our memory is programed to where you learn the information it will stick better like sitting in the same seat in the same classroom every time. Also constructivist perspective is where the students learn better when they are engaged with being inside the classroom and basically teaching there self it allowed time for concentration without distractions.
