    1. emains optimistic in the power of fandom – and its power to bring us together as well as tear us apart

I completely Agree that the fans will either build a stronger relationship between community and artist but that they also have the capabilities to destroy

    2. The industry needs fans more than ever before,

considering the industry needs the fans more than ever I feel like allowing fan some creative ideas will make them continue to be fans which is a win for industry and fan

    6. And to the 1920s, where fan groups would write thousands of letters to movie studios demanding their favourite actor be given better roles. “It was the same thing,” he says, “as Sonic the Hedgehog having weird teeth and people going, ‘No, that’s not the game I played as a kid, you need to fix it or I am not giving you any money.’”

I feel that this is a great way to look at it, if the fans have to pay money to watch it then them having some input as to how the characters are portrayed isn't necessarily a bad thing
