Nature still offers her bounty and human efforts have multiplied it.
This sentence reminded me of The Grapes of Wrath, by John Steinbeck due to its connection with the concept of a humans work ethic and nature. As people are presented with catastrophic events they manage to use it to their advantage and move with nature. This shows us that the human condition has been built up on perseverance, which is exactly what message FDR is trying to convey. He believes that if Americans works together as a whole, they can manage to learn and move on from this infamous time in America's history.
