    1. Teachers participating in arts integration programs say that arts integration puts them back in touch with what originally excited them about teaching. They want classrooms full of engaged, curious, and responsive students. They want to do what is best for student learning. They want to be excited about going into the classroom every day.

I love this section it provides such a clear view of what Art6 integration does for everyone. It's not only a fun way to learn and keep students engaged. It is fun for the teacher too.

    2. arts integration engaging and motivating for students, teachers find that it also energizes them and their teaching.

I find this statement so true. When the students are engaged and participating it being the teachers less stress and it a better learning experience for everyone.

    1. The arts offer powerful tools for understanding human experiences, both past and present.

I love this. It even helps us grow as people. Because it helps grow and learn from our past experiences.

    2. Each student learns in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe for students and adults.

What can we do as educators to make sure our students are receiving this? Or what are some signs that you have seen that has shown that they don't feel safe in their environment to learn?

    1. n differentiated instruction, Tomlinson describes a “pervasive expectation of growth”27 and a persistent, gentle push for students to tackle the next level of knowledge and skill, supported with appropriate scaffolds.28 In arts integration, teachers expect students to meet evolving objectives in both the art form and the other subject area. This push to reach the next level of knowledge and skills is pervasive.

I love how they broke this down, so you have a better understanding of what they are. Differentiated is for the students to get to the next level that they are heading towards. While integration is pushing you to do more than one area and allow you grow past that level.

    2. arts integration helps students access content, process their learning, create products, and work in a productive and supportive learning environment in ways that take into account individual readiness, interest, and learning profile.

I love this art integration is a tool that is amazing to keep our students productive and it captures their interest. It allows the students to explore on their own and create something for themselves even if that is just learning the topic or something much more.

    1. we help our students understand that creative work does not just happen. Rather it is a purposeful, examined, and navigated process.

I LOVE THIS!! Creative work is hard work, we need to remember that, and make sure our students know that. PURPOSEFUL EXAMINED NAGIVIGATED PROCESS

    2. provide students with feedback they can use to improve the quality of their work, and help students see and feel in control of their journey to success.”

I LOVE this !!! if we aren't willing to allow our students to understand what their mistakes are, and we aren't willing to allow them to be in charge of their education. What is the point of teaching really. As educators we need to be willing to fill the student in. Because it's not affecting us as educators it is affecting our students' futures.

    1. The arts provide a multitude of ways to represent information, multiple ways for students to construct and demonstrate their developing understandings, and multiple ways to capture interest and engage students in learning.

When do we know if the arts are not working for a lesson? Or when do we know if the students aren't understanding the topic if they are using art?

    2. Arts integration engages students in the creative process which offers a universal pathway to learning. Students 1) imagine, examine, and perceive; 2) explore, experiment, and develop craft; 3) create; 4) reflect, assess, and revise, and 5) share their products with others.

I love how this breaks it up, so you understand all of the important parts of arts integration.

    1. a new learning environment consistent with the cognitive and expressive demands of the 21st century

Where can we find the right information to create this new learning environment without accidently mixing in the wrong things that aren't right, and being the wrong ideas in our classrooms?

    2. Creativity is a hallmark of arts integration.

I LOVE this sentence. When you think of arts integration you think of just bring the arts into your lesson. But it is so much more than that it is allowing your students to create their own in the lesson to help them make connections, and to learn.
