    1. legal medical malpractice

I wonder if these medical malpractice issues have anything to do with race, or if people of color and minorities are disproportionately affected by this? I also wonder how much of this medical malpractice goes undetected or unreported.

    2. deprofessionalization theory

This also makes me draw a connection to how people think that doctors should just prescribe medicine rather than actually treat or assess the issue. I feel like this is leading to a trend in distrust or lack of respect and credibility in doctors and medical professionals.

    1. One important reason is that the cost of some services discourages participation of people with low incomes and inadequate or no health insurance.

We need to instill policies that make it easy for anyone to detect their illnesses. This is one of the ways inequality spreads and stays a sytematic issue. The people whoa re poor become ill more often and die earlier due to factors like this, while this is not an issue for Ruch people with acess to money and testing and screening procedures.

    2. In the United States, greater attention has been directed at understanding individuals’ participation in health behaviors from a micro perspective,

I think that this explains a lot in the US culture, if we look at the issues form a sociologic perspective, we may find that the issue of obesity is not simply due to individual laziness, but rather poor acess to healthy foods (or they are more expensive than people can afford).

    3. the Age of Receding Pandemics—a transition stage—in which the risk of death from infectious and parasitic diseases declines and risk of death from degenerative diseases increases.

This part shows how the introduction of sanitation and better cleaning policies helped reducing the spread of infectious diseases. The main health concern then shifted to chronic illnesses.

    4. As populations became less susceptible to infectious diseases and less likely to die from them, chronic degenerative diseases such as coronary heart disease and cancer became more prominent.

This section shows how the health issues shift over time. As infectious diseases become less common, things such as cancer may become more popular.

    5. day-to-day interactions among people.

I like this theory and find it fascinating, a professor in my other sociology class asked the class why we walk on the right side of the hallway, why we raise our hand in class, and even though these questions were simple, nobody knew the answer. I like this theory because it is cool to step back and reflect on how society really operates and flows day to day.

    6. sociological perspectiv

The paragraph above states that black individuals had the highest excess mortality, if we look at this issue through a sociological perspective, this makes me wonder what societal structures are in place causing this inequality? Lack of access to healthcare, poverty, or other social issues may influence this, and looking through the sociological perspective is benifitcla.
