After this day, Coyote ran away and never came back for he was afraid of what he had done. He always looked over his shoulder, afraid that someone was pursuing him. Since then he has been starving because no one will give him anything to eat.
I kind of feel bad for Coyote. because he made people sad, and now he is sad too. I think it shows when you do something bad, it can come back to you later.
When at last he heard the whirlwind coming he closed the door before the whirlwind could enter.
Why did Coyote close the door? Was he jealous or mad? Or did he just want to be right? I don’t understand what he was thinking here.
Coyote jumped up and said that people ought to die forever because there was not enough food or room for everyone to live forever.
This part reminds me of Lewis Hyde’s idea that tricksters change the world. Coyote breaks the rule and makes a big change. He brings death, so now life is different for everyone.
