every language of the "hundred languages" should have the right to be expressed by the person who feels they need to express in that specific language

Its so great that the culture of education is one that constantly evolves. I hope this continues and doesn't fall prey to complacency, as some jobs and job cultures I've experienced can do. Its been my experience that surrounding yourself with motivated individuals with passions that mirror your own can always be encouraging and keep things thriving.

Its interesting to me that adults try to take control over children and dictate what they think is best for them. The children are right in front of us. We can just ask their opinions. Why do adults not do this more often?

Families and the home life/culture/heritage of each child is such an important part in understanding the individual child. Having the support of the family is an important part of the whole classroom dynamic. Plus having that relationship with families helps with a much easier communication connection between teacher and families.

For me, this is always the enjoyable part of children. I love observing them and their capabilities and then seeing them take that next step farther- stretching and working their mind to come up with a solution.

This is one of the most important aspects of a teacher/student relationship-the actual relationship between the two. In order to connect and help the child learn you have to have a basic (hopefully in time,deeper) knowledge of the child as an individual. Spending time with the child, observing the child, learning their likes and dislikes are all a part in knowing who that child really is.

Cooperative work among anyone and everyone is a great way for people to get things accomplished. When we all work together we have a bigger and louder voice.

Parent involvement in their child's schooling is so so so important. I am always looking for ways to create better parent involvement, however, at times, parents can be distracted by all different aspects of everyday life. Having that type of dedication from parents is great

This reminds me of the video we watched about life not being a journey. The artist drew a picture of bright colorful children going into a factory labeled "school" where they came out the other end in black and white coloring with a diploma in their hands.

I feel like at first glance having these standards might seem like a good idea. However, taking a look more deeply at things and getting into the details you can clearly see that the standardization of things takes away any type of creativity or discredits anyone who has trouble conforming to the standard.
