      a lot of popular games are based in simulation most notably (the sims) and others like goat simulator, minecraft etc...so its no suprise that lots of popular games have the siimulation aspect. the range of control in an artifical siutation has a pleasing disposition to be a game

      i actually use this methodology to explain new games. its faster to play and learn from the experience personally

      with the generations only becoming more infused with digital media and the "ipad kid" idenity i think this is definately something worth exploring

      i wonder now in this day and age with digital game culture having such large platforms and cultural impact in media (streamers on twitch, five nights at freedies, flappy bird, amoung us, candy crush) if the field had also helped expand this into something larger that just for developers
