I think doxing should be banned because it involves personal privacy issues. If a user wants to retaliate against another user, they can obtain the other user's information by using doxing. If the other party's information appears on the Internet, no matter what the person says, it may affect that person's life.

Doxing [q1]: Publicly posting identifying information about someone (e.g., full name, address, phone number, etc.).
I see doxing pop up all the time on the internet. Whenever there is a popular event, information about the protagonist of the event will soon appear on the Internet. I don't think this is a good behavior because it can seriously affect a person's daily life.

Anya Kamenetz. Facebook's own data is not as conclusive as you think about teens and mental health. NPR, October 2021. URL: https://www.npr.org/2021/10/06/1043138622/facebook-instagram-teens-mental-health (visited on 2023-12-08).
I think there is still an impact between social media and personal life. When people are swiped by a lot of screens, the information that is easy to see is misleading. Many times, people's views are often the views that people want to see, even if they are not correct.

For example, Facebook has a suicide detection algorithm, where they try to intervene if they think a user is suicidal (Inside Facebook’s suicide algorithm: Here’s how the company uses artificial intelligence to predict your mental state from your posts [m30]). As social media companies have tried to detect talk of suicide and sometimes remove content that mentions it, users have found ways of getting around this by inventing new word uses, like “unalive” [m31].
I agree with this approach. If a person who wants to commit suicide continues to receive other information about suicide on the Internet, it is likely to increase the possibility of suicide. However, when the information he receives becomes more POSITIVE information, he is likely that he will not choose to commit suicide.

If a user posts a joke, and people share it because they think it is funny, then their intention and the way the content goes viral is at least somewhat aligned. If a user tries to say something serious, but it goes viral for being funny, then their intention and the virality are not aligned.
For the first time, I learned that sharing funny videos and sharing news are different types of sharing. I usually like to share the interesting videos I see with my friends. This is a kind of Virality.

Zack Whittaker. Facebook won't let you opt out of its phone number 'look up' setting. TechCrunch, March 2019. URL: https://techcrunch.com/2019/03/03/facebook-phone-number-look-up/ (visited on 2023-12-07).
This article shows that Facebook will obtain the user's personal information without the consent of the user, which seems to violate the user's personal privacy. Without the user's knowledge, their personal information may have been known by others. This will allow users to receive unnecessary harassment.

Clickbait: trying to give you a mystery you have to click to find the answer to (e.g., “You won’t believe what happened when this person tried to eat a stapler!”). They do this to boost clicks on their link, which they hope boosts them in the recommendation algorithm, and gets their ads more views
This reminds me of some videos to attract people to click the video through the title. There are more people who clicks, and even if they do n’t finish watching, he will increase his clicks, then he earns popularity.

Myopia is a problem that many people have now. It is more of a congenital problem than acquired factors.

Assistive technologies give tools to disabled people to help them become more “normal.” So the disabled person becomes able to move through a world that was not designed for them. But there is still an expectation that disabled people must become more “normal,” and often these assistive technologies are very expensive.
Disabled people can be no different from normal people through assistive devices. In my CSE class, I wrote a program about helping blind people use specific software. That program will help blind people read the content, so that they can use the software even if they cannot see.

Sara Morrison. What happens to your Twitter data now that Elon’s taken over. Vox, October 2022. URL: https://www.vox.com/recode/2022/10/27/23427106/elon-musk-twitter-privacy-settings-data-direct-messages (visited on 2023-12-06).
This article mentioned that after Musk acquired Twitter, he had the data permissions of all users, and even if the user clicks to delete the account, the previous data will not really disappear. So does this mean that as long as a modern person has used the Internet, he will definitely leave his traces.

meaning the passwords weren’t encrypted and anyone with access to the database could simply read everyone’s passwords.
I find this very interesting. Passwords exist for the security of each user's account, but if someone can directly see the passwords of all users, it seems unsafe. But this is completely understandable, because if necessary, for example, the police need to investigate a person, they may start with social accounts.

So social media sites use the data they collect to try and figure out what keeps people using their site, and what can they do to convince those users they need to open it again later.
This reminds me of some video websites to recommend videos to you through your preferences. For example, if I am paying attention to a game, then I may watch a video about that game, and the website may automatically push me relevant videos. The purpose is to let me stay more on their website.

Trolling is when an Internet user posts inauthentically (often false, upsetting, or strange) with the goal of causing disruption or provoking an emotional reaction. When the goal is provoking an emotional reaction, it is often for a negative emotion, such as anger or emotional pain.
This reminds me of the comments issued by some people on the Internet intentionally with the elements of warfare, the purpose is to arouse people's quarrels. I don't understand what this significance is.

Catfishing: Create a fake profile that doesn’t match the actual user, usually in an attempt to trick or scam someone
This reminds me that some scammers will lure their victims by falsifying personal information. They usually disguise themselves as some special identity, such as staff of an institution, to cause trouble for their victims. In the end, these troubles are usually solved by the victims through money.

Social media is very important to people today. It can be said that people today cannot live without social media. Social media allows people in different locations to stay connected. Now I can communicate with my parents in China through video calls, which was not possible in the last century.

One of the early ways of social communication across the internet was with Email [e5], which originated in the 1960s and 1970s. These allowed people to send messages to each other, and look up if any new messages had been sent to them.
This is the first time I know that email existed so long ago, and this method of communication continues to this day. Many times, if you want to communicate seriously with others, email is an indispensable means of communication.

It was easy, in such situations, to decide the likely utility of posting the photo on social media based on the interest it would generate for us, without thinking about the ethics of using photos of minors without their consent.
This reminds me of some of my friends who like photography. They often take pictures on the street. Some of the photos are taken by strangers, and they post the photos online. Even though they didn't have permission, it's still not ethical.

Buy TikTok Followers. 2023. URL: https://www.socialwick.com (visited on 2023-12-02).
This website is a website that buys social media followers. These followers are robots. They do not have any substantial impact on your posts. They just follow you and make your homepage look like more people are following it. When other real users follow you, they will think that you are very popular.

What does this bot do that a normal person wouldn’t be able to, or wouldn’t be able to as easily?
What I think a bot can do that a normal user cannot do is stay calm at all times. No matter what kind of emotions other users are talking to, the robot can maintain a calm attitude and reply. In contrast, human users are likely to be influenced by the emotions of other users.
