There are many of us who are transforming education. I'm not sure a specifically video-game simulation is the absolute answer. As we have learned, there are many paths and many solution to a problem: I think student inquiry, tinkering, creating, real-world play, simulations, engagement, teacher as facilitator is the key. However, essentially yes - we can learn a lot about the processes of gaming to apply it to educational situation.

Powerful statement. Though, I'm a little skeptical though because I am one that doesn't like video games, but I do like games (board games, social games, etc.).

Since he said nothing (love the fake glasses), most everything we present to the world is nonverbal - the way we dress, hand gestures, even visuals. And, what a great example! In a public school setting, this video would be great to show students as we are moving towards PBL (project based learning) where student have to present their ideas/solutions. I find that many students lack presentation skills (80% of is nonverbal), yet as this video expresses, its so important to practice those!

Dumbo - the little guy is born with horribly huge ears, no friends, everybody teases him, and he is separated from his mommy. Then, he befriends the mouse, the crows, he learns to fly, overcomes his fears and becomes off-the-charts incredibly famous.

Sadly, these are the same comments that I heard in education today. How can we reflect on our teaching rather can jump to conclusions about our students?
