Ads for me, while necessary (or seemingly so in the culture that I am surrounded by) are also usually quite useless. I generally am less attracted to a product if it is constantly shoved down my throat, and especially if something I buy already begins to show up more frequently in ads, it feels like cyber-stalking, and I generally stop using the company product. I find ads to be a probably unnecessary evil, but one that necessitates restructuring our entire human civilization to remove effectively.
