Undeniably, "style, media, tone, cadence, and context" are critical to our experience as learners. The key take a way for me is the value of engagement and how, we as teachers, must consider and plan for all modes of communication to ensure engagement. We also must be culturally aware of how those performances of communication may resonate with some students in our classroom while alienating others. Our approach must be culturally responsive to the experiences of all learners.

Any crime show I have ever watched follows this story line every week. Someone is murdered; the cops have a lead; they think they have their murderer, but it is not the murderer; the cops have no new ideas or information; then, by divine intervention, they notice something new and catch the criminal.
