      Everything about his experience with his father and the nursing home is so incredibly raw and accurate. I have had two grandmothers go through the nursing home process due to dementia, and one of them was accelerated by an emergency health condition. With me being in Los Angeles, and her in Rhode Island, the four month time span between talking to his father is something that I unfortunately experience personally. I cannot facetime with her, as she would be too confused, and shed think me my father if I spoke on the phone. As a result, I can only see her at home. The accuracy to this between experiences was just so jarring that it obliterated any other meaning to this article for me.

      Not sure I agree with this point, specifically to the "fake ones". Weekend Update of SNL, Last Week Tonight by John Oliver, and even Colbert and Stewart, while they might expect people to have a casual understanding of current events, don't necessarily require people to work hard to understand the issues.

    2. There is no original reporting, and the “joke” interviews and gracious chats with guests are more in the tradition of late-night comedy shows like Late Night with David Letterman.

      They do often have man on the street bits, and both had correspondents (such ad Samantha Bee and Trevor Noah, who each went on to host their own shows), that appeared in the news channel style. So while I agree they are not journalists, I find this point not satisfiying

      The styrofoam and waste comments is a nice contrast to the picturesque image the festival would try and promote, but his knowledge of the fork implies some experience eating the lobster, suggesting a little hypocriticism.
