    1. Collaboration: How will teachers collaborate to support students? How will students collaborate with each other?

Teachers have to collaborate with each other to support students. The other 6th grade LA teacher will have constant check ins with myself and my CT weekly to ensure we are on the same page and getting the most out of our students.

    2. Designate time for creating relationships and community online and in person.

The biggest idea I have learned that is the most important for my classroom next year, is creating relationships with students. I have heard it from every teacher I have talked to. I have to create relationships with students that allow me to understand their strengths and needs. Having a community online can also serve as a place where students can be themselves.

    3. Digital learning provides an opportunity to reconsider and adjust the grading and assignment requirements for schools, especially when digital learning is implemented

This sentence caught my attention. As I am continuing to learn and collaborate with other teachers, we have discussed the importance of grading in a digital setting. My CT has gone away from online tests because he does not see it being beneficial at all.

    4. Developing systems that provide students with access to teachers and support

I think this was an interesting idea and one that is more important than ever, since we are in unique circumstances. The more I have explored proven and promising practices with my CT in regards to specific lesson plans, the more I see the benefits of providing systems for students so they can have access to teachers and supports (GoGuardian).

    5. Digital learning can provide students with the opportunity to take charge of their learning, encourage deep thinking, and promote collaboration.

Such an important idea that is 100 percent true. As a teacher, I have noticed a shift from CT's style as the year has unfolded. He wants students to take ownership of their learning, encourage deeper thinking, and promote collaboration with peers. As a learner, I know that some students are more successful when they use digital tools, now it is about taking that next step for me to promote deeper thinking.

    1. Continue to take threats seriously:

This is an important idea. Even if a kid was joking around and was trying to be funny, I still think it is important to ensure that you are taking the correct measures for the student.

    2. Remain calm

I feel like remaining calm is going to be so hard to do. How am I supposed to feel calm if I think the individual is going to commit suicide?

    3. Although far from perfect predictors, certain characteristics are associated with increased odd of having suicidal thoughts. These include: Mental illness including depression, conduct disorders, and substance abuse. Family stress/dysfunction. Environmental risks, including presence of a firearm in the home. Situational crises (e.g., traumatic death of a loved one, physical or sexual abuse, family violence).

It is important to note the certain characteristics associated with an increased odd of having suicidal thoughts. Knowing these thoughts can be help people when they need help the most.

    1. Students could be asked simply to respond to the reading with their thoughts, as in a dialectical reading journal, or employ specific cultural or persuasive strategies in their rhetorical intervention.

I really like this idea of employing specific cultural or persuasive strategies.

    2. A simple question mark in the margin of a book can flag a word or passage for discussion. And such discussions can be generative of important explication and analysis.

I think this is a very interesting tactic. I do believe that a question mark can allow students to generate discussion.

    3. Students can be encouraged to practice skills like rephrasing research material appropriately and citing sources using different formatting styles. And, of course, glossing can be combined with more insightful annotation as well.

I definitely think this is a cool idea and can help students practice necessary skills like rephrasing research material and using appropriate citations.

    4. And when there is no physical classroom space, as in online courses, annotation can be a means for the instructor to have a similar guiding presence and to create an engaging and engaged community of readers.

This is the key idea that stuck out to me in this paragraph. Annotation allows for the instructor to create an engaging and engaged community of readers.

    1. Ask students what they know, what tools are familiar, and how they best like to read and interact with digital texts.

I really like this idea, asking students with what their familiarity is. Get their perspectives to see how they can become successful!

    2. Bolding, underlining, changing text color, adding highlighting, and making comments are all standard tools in these programs.

I think these would be very beneficial for students as they are aren't limited to one thing. They can pick and choose what they like.
