When Amy says she wants to "disappear" I think this shows her insecurity about the family and insecurity at 14 years old. she cares very deeply of what people think of her. At the end she does show that her appreciation for culture has grown

her mom made all of her favorite foods which shows us that she thought of her daughter when making the foods.

I think she should have embraced her culture because the traditions are different. I also think Roberts family should have known that going into this dinner.
