      This is a win-win situation. By doing cultural rhetoric, researchers are able to benefit as well as the communities in need. As a researcher, I understand how important involving a community is. Many times, people do research to improve a community or a group years into the future. However, with cultural rhetoric, a researcher can get published but also improve communities in a short term basis.

      This reminds me of an article I read about a non-profit called Carrotmob. Carrotmob buys a lot of products from certain businesses when they make socially responsible changes within their business. Essentially, the non profit rewards businesses for making proper social change. This is a win-win situation as business sell more products while improving conditions in society.

      Solidarity is a key term in this passage. I believe the word represents a great sense of unity and internal peace within different groups of people.

      This situation is similar to the controversy with the "All Lives Matter" situation. Some people believe that BLM implies that all lives don't matter at all. "All Lives Matter" supporters also stress that we must think about everyone and every race instead of just focusing on blacks. However, in reality, it is important to emphasize BLM because they are the ones that are being truly affected right now. We should fight for racism one step at a time and BLM should be the first step due to the clear discrimination going on right now.

      This was a very interesting point that I never thought of before. Obviously blacks are not the only group of people that are treated unfairly. Latinos, Muslims, Native Americans, and more are also mistreated by the general public. Since these groups see that blacks are getting so much attention, they want shed light on themselves and use the publicity so they can help themselves as well.

      In this argument, the author is able to use logos to support her claim. She factually describes the increased killings of Natives Americans by cops and compares it to BLM. I believe this use of logos is working because the author is able to show the readers why groups like Native Americans want to use BLM as a stepping stone to improve their conditions.
