There’s no doubt that candidate Sanders was exposed to a lot of UV light during all those outdoor rallies in states across the nation. Exposure to UV light is the single greatest risk factor for skin cancer, so it’s perhaps not surprising that Sanders was diagnosed with a small skin cancer on his cheek by December of 2016 (although most of his cumulative UV exposure probably occurred earlier in life).
