    1. men commit suicide at a rate almost three times that of women

Huge psych phenomenon; men are more likely to use violent means for suicide than women. Because the value of beauty is so ingrained in women, they're much less likely to do something that will mutilate themselves, opting for ODs or cuts. Men are more prone to guns and hanging, prominent wounds.

    2. The need to take the Red Pill seriously is especially urgent for feminists who use the internet and social media for personal and professional communications.

This is true, but groups also exist to 1/2 watch-dog and 1/2 satire the Red Pill. There is a certain entertainment--maybe empowerment?-- in finding all of the gaps in their system, undoing their mental gymnastics.

    3. opportunity for men with antifeminist ideas to broad-cast their views to more people than ever before

Kind of reminds me of the fall of Tay, how quickly and the volume at which these ideas can infiltrate an AI system.

    4. Twitter’s censorship of conservative personalities

Insane to me, twitter is known to suppress left-leaning accounts (typically LGBTQ+ content) and refuses to ban literal, self-proclaimed neo-nazis.

    5. its members exhibit widespread disdain for every major social media platform, but they also use th ose platforms as major modes of communication

Honestly, if you examine ANY of these groups, they are wrought with paradox and hypocrisy at every turn. Mental gymnastics are INTENSE

    6. Men Going Their Own Way,

MGTOW is actually kind of a sad story (at least on reddit) -- it seemingly started as an actual group of men who were trying to create a community around recovering from abusive or toxic situations and expectations that men need to look a certain way, be with somebody, etc. fairly wholesome.....then it got flooded with "incel" types and got so bad.

Femininity, but even existence for young women/girls is performative and yet, they are ridiculed even for that calculated performance

    2. s s s

This wording interests me because I don't think that a homosexual intimacy between women being put on blast makes it necessarily better. Lesbians/Bi girls/women are simply more palatable to cishet men who can fetishize them, especially online.

Vividly remember this type of thing

    1. It was purely a sequence of events with no consequence on my RL existence.

meanwhile exu is crying post-traumatic tears in her living room because she had to witness her VR sense of self be violated--it's like he found a way to "technically legally" rape because the online is seen as so disconnected from the real-world

    2. From then on, it was decreed, Lamb-daMOO would just have to grow up and solve its problems on its own

What's the point of having moderator titles if nobody actually wants to moderate?

    3. Even players who had never experienced MUD rape (the vast majority of male-presenting characters, but not as large a majority of the female-presenting as might be hoped) immediately appreciated its gravity and were moved to condemnation of the perp.

It's like an online community police force rallying to find this user on the run

    4. the “voodoo doll,” a subprogram that served the not-exactly kosher purpose of attributing actions to other characters that their users did not actually write

ah ok! this is essentially what i know now as a "god mod"

    5. No bodies touched.

This sentence really grabbed my attention -- It's drawing this attention to the liminality of the situation. It's a rape and yet, no bodies are touched. Does that imply the trauma of the situation is simply VR with no RL affect?

    6. a very large and very busy rustic mansion built entirely of words

looking at the screenshots, it almost seemed like a digital "choose-your-own-adventure type of game/story?

    1. Stabbing, when performed by one character to another in literature, often symbolizes an assault which is sexual in nature due to the penetrative and violent means of the act. Because Juliet stabs herself, it isn’t something that should be taken as a sexual assault, but instead as a symbol for the repeated violence of the patriarchy and blind impulsivity of men like Romeo (the dagger) in regards to love and the treatment towards the women (the sheath) of the 16th and 17th century that forces her hand. The dagger rusts both with the color of the blood that it will shed, but will also remain as an irremovable part of her because of the oppressive force that it represents.

      trauma resulting in suicide?

    2. Polonius is so often portrayed on the stage as a doting father, that the blatant degradation and emotional abuse of his daughter are completely ignored in favor of a saccharine falsehood.

      trauma, abuse

    3. The issues with many of these accusations of sexism thrown at his work by modern feminist scholars is that there is a great deal of misinformation about the conditions under which Shakespeare was writing, as well as a misunderstanding of the nuances that came with writing problematic lines while abiding by the strict censorship regulations that were set forth by the religious and governmental institutions during his time.

new historicism tied to feminist criticism in order to understand female identity of elizabethan england

    1. Beneath the Wikipedias and Facebooks and YouTubes and other shiny repositories of information, community, and culture, the internet is, and always has been, mostly garbage.

It's interesting to see these listed as not garbage--at least on the surface--there's definitely a lot of garbage all over facebook and youtube, at the very least.

    2. the American crisis in free speech coinciding with the rise of platform power,

I wonder if this would be addressing the suppression of minority voices/refusal to acknowledge policy violations for hate (often white supremacist) groups or the idea that we are so highly monitored and these companies use our data and posting to track us or sell info? Or if I'm completely off track altogether.
