    1. He kind of reminds me of Forest Gump, He doesn't quite mean for his life to be what it is or what it became but he's accomplished so much and he overcame so many obstacles. It's admirable and endearing.

    1. By largely removing the grade from my judgment, I’m forcing students to make choices about what matters to them and why. For their entire lives they’ve been told that grades “matter.” Each of those little choices – doing the draft, coming to class, etc… - requires students to confront and put into practice their own values.

      Everything that we have learned since grade school has been motivated by grades. In order to get the best grade possible we would study to the point of merely memorizing facts for the grade but not retaining this information to further benefit us. This method of grading strips the anxiety of worrying about the grade. Honestly it sounds like a sure fire way to get students to actually try their hand at learning the material.
