    1. Unlike the linear and interactive models, it doesn’t view communication as a sequential process with distinct senders and receivers. Instead, it emphasizes that communication is a simultaneous and ongoing process

This model is very interesting to me. When I think of communication, I typically think of it through the interactive model context, where the sender sends their message to the receiver and the receiver sends back their feedback, in a sequential process. But the transactional model is very intriguing because it presents a more complex way of communication that does not follow a sequential process.

    2. Communication does not occur in a vacuum; it is influenced by a variety of factors that shape how messages are sent, received, and interpreted

It is always important to remember that there are a variety of different factors that cause messages to be received and interpreted in different ways. We need to keep this is mind while communicating, so that we can try to send our message as directly and clearly as possible.

    3. In this model, both the sender and receiver actively participate, with the receiver providing feedback to the sender, indicating understanding or misunderstanding.

I think this model of communication is better than the linear model, because it makes it less likely for there to be miscommunication, due to the feedback loop.

    4. the linear model is often criticized for its lack of feedback from the receiver, failing to capture the dynamic and interactive nature of most human communication.

While, the linear model probably works well in many circumstances, I understand the criticisms it receives for its lack of feedback and high possibility of misinterpretation.

    5. The receiver is the target of the message and is responsible for decoding its meaning based on their own experiences and background.

The receiver is also very important to note in communication. Not only is it important for the sender to communicate a clear and direct message, but it is also important for the receiver to understand the message, and if they don't they need to communicate that with the sender, so that they can receive clarification.

    6. The message travels through a channel, which is the medium that acts as the bridge between the sender and receiver

This shows how important it is to send your message in the correct way. Sometimes this channel is an email can be a simple meeting other times it needs to be a more detailed meeting or conversation. It is important to communicate in the in the correct way, so that the message is as clear as possible.

    7. What went wrong?

Clearly, a lot went wrong in this scenario. Not only was the email's content confusing and led John to think that it meant the deadline was pushed back to the following Friday, but it also never even made it to Maria because her inbox was flooded. I'm not sure if Sarah is to blame for Maria not seeing her email, but I think that on top of the email, she should have communicated the change in deadline in person, just to be sure that everyone understood.

    8. Communication is the foundation of human interaction, shaping how we connect, collaborate, and coexist in personal, professional, and academic settings

Communication really is the foundation of human interaction, which is why it is so important to know how to communicate properly.
