"I hope [people] will be moved by what I teach them," he said.
This is so good to hear. It should be a goal for every teacher or professor to want to impact the lives of those they teach!

If they can make connections between religion and sport, it helps get people involved
I agree, it would help people get involved because besides politics, in my opinion religion and sports are the two biggest things the world worships.
Retired Red Wings tough guy Jimmy Orlando
The way this guy is described makes me laugh and seems as if this author is not a fan of him.
hockey'stemple
Still shocks me at how Canadians literally worship hockey, enough to call it a temple!
Thither the five men made their way one morning and set to work at once, without a word, for every man's task had been settled beforehand.
Interesting to see the males role vs. females role here. They rose early to work and didnt come home until late at night. This is not what it is like today.
"But he must not be allowed to come back, eh, mother! He must not be allowed to come back, this bad spirit. I will take father's gun and I will shoot him ..."
It would be difficult to shoot a spirit. Praying and rebuking the spirit may work better.
Dink Carroll began his Montreal Gazette column, “I am ashamed of my city.” He seemed to speak for the majority of Montrealers. “This is not who we are.”
It is sad to see someone feel this way when they have such high hopes for their city and people.
“For 15 blocks they left in their path a swath of destruction,” Katz wrote in Maclean’s. “It looked like the aftermath of a wartime blitz in London.”
I could not imagine seeing the streets of my hometown look this way. It would be heart breaking.
score 50 goals in a season (in 50 games, no less)
This is an insane statistic, would be cool to have witnessed a part of this history.
Garbage and various fruit rained down on the NHL boss, one man raced up and smeared a tomato on Campbell, and less than a minute later a homemade tear gas bomb went off.
This seems a little dramatic for a hockey game. I think that there could have been more mature ways to handle this situation.
went in a body to fulfill their vows in the house of the Holy Virgin at Saumur, and in that of Saint Anne in Brittany, before returning to their own houses, or greeting any of their relatives or friends.
This shows the dedication and importance of becoming clean of their sins and how much their religion meant to them. For some, it may have been what let them hold on long enough to survive.
they were stripped naked
This seems like an embarrassment and a personal way to show the world a persons private life. Stripping someone naked is seemed to strip them of their dignity, making them feel humiliated and worthless.
these dress and disguise themselves, not in truth so richly, but almost as ridiculously as they do elsewhere.
This takes a strong hit towards Christianity and makes you wonder what happened in this persons life to make them bias towards these Christians.
Might this indeed have been some infernal spirit?
It is possible that this could have been an evil demonic spirit. There have been some Giant-like figures in the Bible (Goliath and the Nephilim people).
