perceived neutral means of placing value judgments on individuals inorder to justify the existence of dominant or subordinate groups,
a perceived neutral isnt always actually there
erpetuate segregationand marginalisation and can lead to differentiatedexpectationsof students
This can be a problem and can cause students to not want to put in effort after seeing how others are treated
‘Ableism’ is a set of beliefs that guidecultural and institutional practices ascribing negative values to individuals with disabil-ities2while deeming able-bodied and able-minded individuals as normal, thereforesuperior to their disabled counterparts (Gabel 2005)
This is a huge problem in schools with children with disabilities being treated different
Instead of this limiting binary in which all students are expected to fit into one of twocategories, there is diversity in human capabilities and therefore there is a need to recon-struct the ideology of normal into a more expansive understanding of human variability
