    1. Technological literacy is when you are completely competent with the use of technology and are open to learning new things about newer devices. There are three aspects to technological literacy which are capabilities, knowledge, and critical thinking. I would say capabilities and knowledge are the most prevalent and the ones outmost known. Some people would know all the features within their device or piece of technology and utilize all of it. I know my friend’s mom who always gets the latest IPhones and hasn’t used Google maps at all. The next important thing is knowledge which can be mentioned as an another word is basically knowing what technology to use at which moments. Sometimes your laptop may be better to type and print things. While purchasing a laptop knowing more about the specifications allows you to know what exactly you are buying. After this course ends, I would say I would focus on learning more and just getting the mere exposure of new technology would be a good start.

I think the thing that struck me the most in this class would probably be the amount of readings and the wide array of readings we were exposed to. I am lucky to have chosen this class this semester my final semester at the U. I believe as young millennials we do inherently follow some of the principles that were taught in this class. In the future though I will be more open minded about technology and have learned about how technology literacies can change throughout other peoples lives.

    1. Whereas a descriptive relativist could make the empirical observation that one society, polygamy is considered moral whereas in another it is considered immoral, a metaethical relativist could make the more far-reaching claim that the statement “polygamy is morally wrong” is true or justified in some societies while false or unjustified in others.

What is right and what is wrong is very relative to what we think is good or bad. The perception is very different depending on the things that has shaped you as a person. If we compare Indian culture along with American culture. It seems like in Indian culture polygamy let alone having multiple monogamous relationships is bad. In American culture, it is important to have monogamous relationships to find yourself, but with my culture it is not allowed at all.

    1. Conversely, our tendency toward sugary cereals and milk or preference for egg sandwiches loaded with bacon and cheese would seem quite bizarre to other cultures.

This is very true, what is normal to us may seem very bizarre. Most cultures like to follow American culture thus have a frame pointof view in life. It is very important to know how things could change. The cultural lens is very hard to get rid of when that is the only thing that you aren't used to.

    1. There have been only a few changes in P/Ediscussions(AppendixG).The term civic engagement is generally used. However, political engagementis also often used, while economic, social, and cultural online participation hasrarely been discussed over the past 10 years.

As a citizen it is very important to take responsability for the actions done online. The engagement we take part online has to be of useful causes because sometimes people may cause a lot of misinformation in times. When there are articles being posted or simply other people posting something. It is very difficult to see that people loiter the comments and make everything worse.

    1. The poll lends weight to the suggestion that the US election result was influenced by a widespread belief in fake news among Trump supporters. That same poll found that 73% of Trump voters thought the billionaire financier George Soros paid protesters to disrupt the Republican candidate’s rallies – a fake news report later repeated by the president-elect himself.

The influence that Donald Trump's election has with the Russian ties and etc were astonishing. It is still a conspiracy of a sort. I feel like it will always be a controversial topic of letting technology interfere with elections.

    1. New ways of linking datasets have played a large role in generating new insights. And creative approaches to visualizing data—humans are far better than computers at seeing patterns—frequently prove integral to the process of creating knowledge.

The value over the control of data is a ever so growing war. People are working hard to get more and more out of a data set. I feel likeif we actually learn to control and assemble data it can be a useful skill.

    1. Happily, at the moment we still live in a world of context-relative information, where the meaning of something does not exist independently of a viewpoint, and information does not exist adrift from a conscious mind. The way we utilise information has moved beyond simple dichotomies such as the subjective/objective views, and into a ‘relationalist’ framework, however. Although not every piece of information necessarily means something, the modern thinker has a relational view because pure data is of itself equivocal.

This article I feel like talks about the different perspectives and different personas that people have in this day and age. People are far different in person and online. This identity change is a bit confusing in our day and age.

    1. 2.3 INFORMATION LITERACYAn appreciation of teaching the ethical use of information as a literacyskill begins with an appreciation of the evolution of information literacy. In the United States, the concept of information literacy has evolvedfrom a simple definition that referred to the approach of using referenceresources to find information, through a recognition by the Associationof College and Research Libraries (ACRL) of the American LibraryAssociation (ALA, 1989) definition

The definition of literacy is so wide open in our generate because we don't only have to be literate to communicate, but also literate enough to use technology and properly execute the work given. I feel like the way we can be literate is widely unique and different for different people.

    1. His lab has collaborated with social workers trying to reduce gang violence in Chicago to train machine learning software to find tweets expressing trauma and loss. The group has shown updates of those kinds often precede posts containing threats, and is hoping to test its algorithms as tool for community organizations in Chicago and New York City.

I think that machine learning and computers have taken this too far. I have been looking intl the correlation of technology and the effects it has on young minds. I don't think violence was a big thing back in the early 1900's. Maybe we just don't know about it. We have a easy access to guns along with the psychological exposure to violence via social media. Combining these elements leads to school shootings and cyber bullying. It is a great idea we're trying to safely implement technology into our lives, but I feel like it is making it worse.

    1. The book Ethics of Emerging Technologies: Scientific Facts and Moral Challenges explains the different types of styles that they use to follow ethical principles. The most interesting style of ethics was Utilitarianism. Utilitarianism holds that the most ethical choice is the one that will produce the greatest good for the greatest number. It is very similar to the moral code that most military forces use. Utilitarianism also is known to have issues for accounting for values like justice and individual rights. A really good example of this would be if a organ donor walks into a hospital and happens to lose his/her life. His donation which consists of a kidney, hear, liver, and lungs will now save 4 different lives. This produces the greatest good for the greatest number.

    1. The contributors to this anthology examine a range of philosophical questionsconcerning technology. In addition to attempting to determine its essence, theyalso consider technology in its moral, political, epistemological, andmetaphysical dimensions. Part I examines the early foundations for a philosophyof technology. It consists of readings representing early philosophy oftechnology, from the 1940s to the 1970s.

This article talks a lot about the drastic changes that internet and technology has changed over the past few decades. The internet affects us differently than it did before. Internet started as something really useful with helping us communicate and aid day to day lives. As Anil briefly mentioned during his podcast. We now use technology and internet to do a lot more. So much more that it is quite distracting. We have everything in the reach of our finger tips. We now have things such as cyber bullying, early exposure to pornography, and early exposure to a lot of dark things early in life. We strive to go back to the early days but I dont think it ll work as of our current environment.
