    1. Then Coyote said, “This is too long. I have a better way.” He then snapped the blanket and the rest of the rock-star mica was scattered across the sky.

I honestly just love this! Coyote is probably my favorite character

    2. The One Who Rules the Day. And White Shell Girl became the moon, Tłʼéhonaaʼéí, The One Who Rules the Night

Again with the day and night, light and dark talk, I wonder if this is done on purpose and what the significance is (if there is any)

    3. When-Few-Seeds-Ripen, Jáátsoh, Great Seed Ripening, Biniʼantʼą́ą́tsʼózí, Little Ripening, and finally September, Biniʼantʼą́ą́tsoh, Harvest Time, when foods are s

I feel like this story (naming the months and describing what each month is to do and not do) is similar to stories I've heard about why the months are named the way they are. I don't remember the story but it was basically the same (very similar) as this one.

    4. “May my home be sacred and beautiful, and may the days be beautiful and plenty.”

I really like this quote. It's sweet and has a sense of hope. Bless this home and the people of it.

Also, I didn't completely understand this world. I still don't see why they brought the 2 babies...

    5. In the north room of the house, they found Big Water Creature asleep in a chair. Her own two children were there, and also the two missing daughters. First Man and First Woman took the hands of the girls and led them back through the passage and on to the bank. Behind them, Coyote carried the two children of Big Water Creature

I think this part of the text is very interesting.

    6. three days,

I notice that there is a lot of use of "three days" and I'm wondering what significance it holds. It also reminds me of the Crucifixion. Jesus was buried for 3 days before he came back. I'm reading quite a bit from these texts that remind me of Bible stories.

    7. The Black Cloud contained the Female spirit of Life. The White Cloud contained the Male spirit of Dawn.

I find this interesting because white is usually associated with purity, innocence, and good while black is commonly associated with evil, mystery, and death. I wonder if the meanings of colors are associated with Navajo.

    8. different three lower worlds. All these things were spiritually created in the time before the Earth existed and the physical aspect of humans did not exist yet, but the spiritual did.

Reminds me of the Bible when God created the Heavens and the earth. Also, I'm not sure if this is correct or not but (so far) I think the 3 worlds could be Heaven, earth, hell, and maybe purgatory (the last 3 being "lower worlds". Just a thought

    1. for example, the night sky begins to take shape through the careful choices of First Man and First Woman, but this process is disrupted by the wily Coyote, who snaps a blanket that randomly scatters stars across the sky

This reminds me of the story of Adam and Eve. The two were made and chosen to lead good lives but a serpent (snake) came along. As we all know, snakes are considered to be tricksters and liars. With that said, the snake tricked Adam and Eve into eating fruit from the forbidden tree.

    2. key deity in their religion who was responsible for establishing the first Navajo clans.[1] The deity responsible for establishing the clans also provided them with a guide for living

I feel like women played a sacred role during this period among these people. The seem to be responsible for, for lack of better words, providing a guide of living

    3. hózhó was given to the Navajo by the female deity

Interesting to see that a woman held some form of power in a community. Usually, in history, women aren't given any kind of power, abilities, etc. that men would have so this is new. Hopefully there are more examples in this text that shine a light on what women did/could do
