    1. This poem has some powerful messages about what It means to begin a new chapter in life, specifically moving and leaving home. I am wondering about the form of the poem though, my first thought is that the shape of the entire poem looks kind of like a boot(?), and could be trying to embody the leaving/traveling/walking messages in the poem.

    1. I also read this piece like It was a prayer. Two of the main things I got from this poem was the repetition of the lines "see things as they truly are, / this wonderful opportunity to awaken" which I think is powerful and encapsulates what this poem is really about. I also love how the speaker calls the reader to do good and be kind to others in many ways, but then also reminds the reader that above all to be kind to yourself, which resonates with me because I have a great deal of trouble doing that.

    1. I am wondering what the speaker is putting these two animals into. I am confused by the speaker asserting that the butterfly bit the snake, It seems a little backwards... Also, the poem ending with a question seems fitting because thats really all I'm left with after reading this poem as well.

    1. I have to say I'm with Kathy on this one... not too sure what to take away from this poem. As far as form goes, each section has a different line/ stanza pattern which is interesting. The fact that this poem has sections at all is notable as well, I feel like each of the sections could be there own poems. I especially like the line "Splayed veins from eyebolts."
