      This reminds me of the Facebook motto - "Run fast and break things". It is the idea that you cannot create something that hasn't existed before without getting outside the rules, outside the norm and find that innovation.

    2. I would say that we make a distinction between a culture of teaching and a culture of learning

      I feel this quote highlights the big "problem" we have in education - most students leave K-12 and become adults who say that they didn't learn much that they feel was applicable in the real world, and that school just didn't 'work' for them. I think many students pass through as great students to teach, but not so great at transferring what they know to their experiences outside of school.

      Carissa, I loved your story, it was so relatable! I really think that financial literacy should become a part of what we teach young people coming through Middle & High School. I think we are doing them a disservice to not try to impart upon them the lessons that we are all learning in our 20s and 30s through trial and error. Really great use of your iPad set up! You have inspired me for our next project.
