Going into the library and finding a good source for a research paper can be so much more informative than searching online. Going to South Plains College, there are many courses that the textbook is already provided making this statement of "more open access" plausible. However, there are still some textbooks that are necessary for a course that the student still has to pay for either with financial aid or out of pocket.
