A very interesting perspective... though POC aren't granted many freedoms, everybody, theoretically, has the freedom of speech by nature. This reminds me of slave songs, blues, and other ways that POC have defied these types of boundaries over time.

The inconclusive ending of the essay is reflective of the feelings of underrepresented black and brown communities in Toronto- they see their voices and cultural impact in the community diminishing and are finding themselves stuck in a place where, again, they have no voice.

Through the closing of common spaces in which people can gather and appreciate music or other creations from black artists, Toronto is essentially silencing the black community.
