    1. She noted the "change which has taken place ... in the ambition and aspirations of women."[27] In the process of developing their intellect and direct labor, something new was emerging. Educated women of her generation wished "not to be a man nor like a man" but claim "the same right to independent thought and action." Each young woman was gaining "a new confidence in her possibilities, and a fresher hope in her progress".[28

I think it is very inspiring to read about Addams voicing her thoughts about women and their education.

    2. . He kept a letter from Lincoln in his desk, and Addams loved to look at it as a child.[25]

This specific detail causes me to wonder if President Lincoln himself had a large influence on Addams's upcoming as one of the most well-known female public figures.

    3. In the Progressive Era, when presidents such as Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson identified themselves as reformers and social activists, Addams was one of the most prominent reformers.[14]

It is intriguing to me that even though Jane Addams's accomplishments and resolutions were nearly identical to very well known presidents'; I like many have not yet heard her story until now. I learned of and about presidents such as Roosevelt and Wilson in grade school, however, the name Jane Addams was never once mentioned.

    1. Physical education for school-aged populations in that regard remains an incredibly important platform for early development of physical literacy. Without sufficient (high quality) physical education, it will be hard to make up for this later in life when the capacity for learning new or enhancing existing motor skills diminishes.

The older you get, the harder it is to learn a sport, and better yet excel in it. This is opposed to say a school-aged child who has very little difficulty picking up new activities in life.

    2. . Academic performance is linked to PA as acknowledged in the current Australian national sports policy document, Sport 2030 (Department of Health, 2018).

I believe that this piece of information is easily supported by numerous research articles today. These academic articles show how PA elevates not only physical health but also humans' mental and emotional health. Engaging in PA releases endorphins that improve our mental health well-being.

    3. The role that sport plays in society continues to evolve, and this is reflected in recent sport policy (Department of Health, 2018). For example, over recent years, there has been an increasing shift from traditional organized and competitive club-based sport to less structured, non-competitive, and individual forms of sport and PA (Eime et al., 2013; Eime R. et al., 2015; Borgers et al., 2016; Harris et al., 2017).

I strongly agree with this statement because I feel as though recently there have been trends of people of all ages participating in non-competitive sports. This could be a pick-up 3-on-3 basketball game in a community park, a group of people meeting for a fun game of sand volleyball, or two elderly citizens engaging in a round of bowling.
