Are there negative aspects of genre then? We've been looking at genre through a more functional lens but I feel like it is easy to fall into the mindset of judging a book by its cover.

Sounds to me this is talking maybe about taxes. Kind of how I feel. Although not extreme, there are repercussions to not paying your taxes.
