      Its really interesting to see all the different geometry in SV.

      This is something I have noticed over the past semester. there does not seem to be much overlap.

    1. It's very eerie, and has a lot of distant bell tone type sounds.

      I thought this too but It was so well balanced that it was almost relaxing at times. there was good balance of the highs and lows which helped it not be too overpowering.

    2. This starts by reading papers and research by non-white and other marginalized individuals.

      This is really one of the main ways to educate on the matter. Its important to always diversify research and music to try and see the full picture! and you need an open mind.

    1. I was hoping for someone to present a counter to the piece but it all seems like praise.

      Appropriation is often a fine line and can be a somewhat personal boundary. Some people have more tolerance than others and i often find that it requires some careful thought to balance properly

      This is something that I never even realized until I read this. It is an interesting issue because there would have to be protection for civilizations that are disconnected from the digital world.

      It would be awesome it there was a blank keyboard with 2 rows of blank keys that could allow for extended tuning. The pearl Mallet station has this but when you set the bottom not it automatically blocks the blank notes.

    2. To me this is what makes the ‘white exceptionalism’ term so important; white (male) composers and musicians constantly and traditionally start with some form of advantage that has been baked into our western musical sphere for centuries.

      And Since it was this was for so long, many of them don't see it or denies its existence.
