      I had to read these lines a few times to find an interpretation that I thought made sense. I think Lorde is saying she treated a certain way because she is a black women and that's all people saw during that time.

      When watching Smith recite this poem, at this moment, I forgot what the first scene was because his performance was so well done.

      This ties back to the stereotypes that Smith does not want in his movie. The stereotype that the black person always dies first in movies. He then repeats it a few times to put more meaning in these words that go beyond the movie in his poem.

      It sounds like Smith wants viewers to be able to watch this movie with fresh eyes that are not tainted with opinions on the actors in the movie.

      Smith is starting emphasize that he does NOT want this movie to be a typical black movie. He does not want it to be a movie about black history or the struggle. He also does not a typical black comedy (Wayans brothers).

      Smith decides to call the movie "Dinosaurs in the Hood" which reminds me of the movie, Boyz n the Hood. Later in the poem, Smith states that he wants Dinosaurs in the Hood to be the opposite of Boyz n the Hood.
