A member of a group of orcas, orkiller whales, in Patagonia had adamaged jaw and could not feed. The elderly whale was fed and keptalive by its companions.

We're saying the science has shown thatindividuality - consciousness, self-awareness - is nolonger a unique human property. That poses all kindsof challenges."
Makes sense because dolphins live and hunt in packs which are similar to tight knit communities. They also have a system of communication and partake in some actions that they find "fun" like playing with pufferfish. Pufferfish, can kill humans since they possess the neurotoxin tetrodotoxin but this toxin actually intoxicates dolphins and they know this. So dolphins seek out pufferfish and pass them around to get them to release the toxin to feel the effects. https://www.nbcnews.com/science/science-news/dolphins-getting-high-fish-toxin-or-just-load-puff-n3691

Joe Rogan does a bit about this topic concerning dolphins in one of his specials and I thought it was pretty funny. I know it's not totally accurate but I think it relates to this topic well while also providing some laughter and he does make some decent points.

What is the truth? Is it just a fact? Is it something you can see? Do you feel it or hold it in your hand? Or is a truth something more, is it something that you are taught to believe without seeing or instilled with at a young age in your respective culture?
Derive a test implication. Ask, “What if the hypothesis were true?” “What does it imply?” “What does it commit us to?” Test implications have the following form: If hypothesis H is true, then concept X should apply in this situation.
Basically the scientific theory still used today. If a hypothesis is true, we try and define its application in the world as it occurs and how other theories involve themselves.
In their view, we are nothing but a pack of atoms—indivisible material particles that are in constant random motion. If Crick and Leucippus are right, then most religious believers are wrong—we can’t survive the death of our bodies. When our bodies die, we cease to exist.
Atoms cannot be created nor destroyed. That being said, do we really "die" if we are just a pack of atoms? We can't "cease to exist" either if atoms themselves can't be destroyed, or does our mind just die?
Consider, for example, the beliefs that the universe contains only mate-rial objects and that we have minds.
Are our minds byproducts of the matter within the universe or is it its own entity?

Do we have a duty to help others, or is our only obligation to not harm them?
This is quite thought-provoking given the concepts of war and altruism. Would you want to help others if you knew others would not do the same? Is all war immoral? Can violence be justified?
