    1. Pretty soon, people became lazy. Pretty soon, people stopped having sex with each other. Sex became a very private act. The feeling of someone’s palm on your skin, or their hair in your mouth, or their toenails scraping your knee were universally understood to be distracting and intrusive.

I find this branch of this particular universe to be very hard to believe. I can understand how this shift away from sex being a physical to private connection being related to shifts as a result of the apocalypse. However, since the beginning of time, human beings have been intrinsically motivated by physical contact and connections. For this type of primal desire to disappear is confusing to me.

    2. “So. Do you want to have sex?”She thought a moment and rubbed at a spot on a tile in front of her and unable to decide, said, “Okay.”

This particular interaction is very intriguing as it combines the social and potentially political expectations of what is expected as a result of a meetup following an online connection. The interaction is very curt, awkward, and to the point. The individuals are clearly following a pre-set standard as if it were a script.

    3. After the zombie apocalypse, there was only internet dating

How, after such an extensive list of strange irregularities in regards to human interests, did this particular universe land on internet dating as the one thing that remains after the zombie apocalypse?

    4. No one on EdenMatch was very attractive, including herself, so it was different from online dating beforein that the picture was no longer the main thing.

I'm curious to know what caused this shift in society and dating standards away from visual biases. The visual aspect of dating is a common part of current online profiles and in today's society individuals strongly rely on visual representation (although plenty of individuals would like to claim that appearances are not "alll that").

    5. People in positions of power did illegal things they did not even attempt to cover up and were unapologetic when caught.

This reminds me of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal as I just watched the docuseries about it on netflix. Politicians, celebrities, and literally anyone who has an aura of power have a history of getting away with very serious crimes.

    6. Children took guns to school and shot other children to see what it would feel like.

This quote resonates with me as a student currently living in a world in which instances like school shootings are all too real. The reality that this is something that has occurred and unfortunately will likely occur again is a scary thought.
