I am glad that this model highlights the importance of giving students time to explore. That was a big fault in my early science education, I felt rushed and overwhelmed and retained none of what was being presented.
Provides closure
I was very shocked that this would be inconsistent with the Instructional Model. I have learned that my approach to education can be very structured and organized. I like keeping things together and having a lesson wrap up. Closure to me is something that I feel makes me feel a lesson is successful, but I am now reevaluating that idea.

The "engage" section reminds me of our Probes. A question is posed, we reflect, we apply, we make hunches.
Because learning does not occur by way of passive absorption, the lessons in this module promote active learning.
I liked the idea of "passive absorption". While reflecting on my experiences, I couldn't find the words to formally summarize how my district handled science curriculum.
