    1. Great list! Some things we didn't think about until we needed them are:

      • stroller organizer
      • teethers
      • crinkly books
      • pacifier holders but ones that could probably hold other things too like teethers or wubba nubs
      • baby sunglasses
      • Milkies trays - you'll want 1oz milk cubes for putting in the boon silicone thing when she's teething and in the beginning you'll bag and freeze less oz so as not to waste but then she'll grow and need just one oz more so you can defrost 1oz at a time.
      • If you are going to try to breastfeed have emergency formula on hand in case it doesn't go well or an emergency where Rob will have to feed. These single packets are great because you can put some in the diaper bag for just in case & I found out that once you open a tin of formula you must use w/in 30 days so if it's just for emergencies the tin is a waste.
      • A very Extra purchase but we LOVE it: a baby cam for the car instead of the stupid mirrors that really don't work--it also has night vision so you can see them at night whereas you can't see them with a mirror. We have the Yada and love it but it looks like there are now some cheaper ones that are highly reviewed.
      • diaper caddy so you can change diapers in any room
      • these washable portable changing pads-one in the caddy, one in the car, one in your diaper bag
      • reusable swim diaper
      • a brush, we obviously knew our kid would have hair, maybe a toss up with your kid
      • this is the baby sunscreen we got thinkbaby) & Babo
      • a giant play mat to roll out and away
      • spray oxy clean or the powder to soak all the dirty stuff
      • if you are up for (evidence-based, because I'm a researcher nerd) pregnancy and parenting book recs I LOVE Emily Oster
      • a foot stool for your glider while nursing
      • socks, are the worst so we love the booties with snaps: zutano
      • Baby tylenol
      • Baby saline drops
      • baby vitamin D drops
      • a giant water bottle (insulated if you prefer cold water) with a STRAW -- you don't have two hands ever again to unscrew a top and you'll be thirsty all the time while breastfeeding
      • a nightstand next to your glider stocked with more water and granola bars, protein bars, (or in my case, poptarts). You'll be so hungry at 2am
      • BLACKOUT curtains! These travel ones are great because you can put them up wherever for naps.
      • a giant basket to hold toys/books/blankets
    2. Baby

So cute!! Make sure you get a 2nd towel--Jack pooped on his towel after a bath more than once.

    3. Bo

      Love these!

    4. GREEN S

So many more burp cloths than you think you'll need. If she is anything like Jack. He's a "happy spitter" so no GI issues but tons of spit up nonetheless! We also like the Aden & Anais convertible burp cloth and bib ones because they do double duty when you're on the go.

    5. Frida

      yes!!

    6. Baby Electric Nail File, Fansidi Safe Baby Nail Trimmer- Electric

Ok, We bought all sorts of things--hilariously the mom groups said the easiest thing to use were cuticle trimmers and soooo true! And we got this baby nail file to smooth edges.

    7. Dr. Bro

cute!! For a first toothbrush we read you want to do silicone first (to get them used to it.) Jack loooves his banana.

    8. Wub

Yes!! But maybe still get more than one. Jack has three. lol.

    9. Philips A

I read you don't really have to steam sanitize bottles anymore--mostly just the first wash after you buy them and you can do it in a giant pot on the stove but also, I went for glass bottles instead because we don't use them a lot. But who knows as he gets older.

    10. Boon S

We also have a small Boon Grass rack and it's great!

    11. Munchkin

I get the convenience of sippy cups but the speech therapist in me can't help but tell you they don't help kids learn to drink from cups and it's better to use straw cups or actual cups like the ezpz tiny cup

    12. Haakaa

      A must have!!

    13. Freemie

Not sure if you're going to get a pump through your insurance but I have the Spectra 2 (I think--its the battery powered one, so a step up from the regular plug in one) and think it's great. It's easy to carry around and set up and if you need to pump in the car or anywhere there isn't an outlet you can. Great for road-tripping :)

    14. Bab

This box is great! Turns out he was super picky about the nipple so don't buy anything until you start trying these out.

    15. Manha

We LOVE all the manhattan toy stuff!

    16. Baby S

Ok, so we have the rohm travel one and love it. It comes with a string so you can attach to things on the go. We also have the hatch and like, though I wish I'd paid the extra $20 for the Hatch plus because it connects to Alexa and has the clock. I was a psycho who tracked everything and logged late night feedings so constantly looking for the time was crazy.

    17. Give This GiftGive This GiftWill I Ever Sleep Again? Online Newborn Class – Taking Cara B

      Yaaas!

    18. The Su

Have this--It works well, I didn't love the fit but convenient for nursing and pumping. Interestingly, the Arden brand at Target have been my favorite for nursing. I would still register for a pumping only bra, you can put over your nursing ones or the nursing tanks, which I still pretty much live in. I have this one and works great: (simple wishes)

Key: You'll want to buy many because ain't nobody got time to do laundry and the baby laundry takes priority. And you need nursing pads to insert specifically for the Kindred Bravely one (if not all of them). And this nipple balm is bomb.

    19. AVEE

We've liked all the Honest baby products. But also just discovered Tubby Todd -- super pricey but they lotion smells like Horchata!! even though it says lavender & rosemary. haha and I LOOVEE the Tubby Todd All Over Ointment. It has cleared up cradle cap, baby acne, and diaper rash in less than 24 hours.

    20. Skip Ho

We just started using one of those anti fatigue mats for the kitchen from costco. Way cheaper and bigger and flush against the tub for gabes big body vs this one. We have the whole whale setup (and love it) except for this pad.

    21. Zip Footi

LOVE Primary and Hanna Anderson (especially jammies, but only when they are on sale!)

    22. Sumatra Mo

These! Register for more of these. And keep an eye out for them during the Nordstrom sales. The modal ones are great for hot months. The magnets aren't that impressive but better than snaps (don't buy any snaps for 0-3 and try to look for zippered things that have two way zips or start at the feet)

    23. Keekaroo

So I have heard parents rave about this one. We have two (one in the nursery and one in our bedroom and we went full on cheap for the second one and it works great. We also love these changing pad covers because they are wipeable.

We went with The Hatch one because it is wipeable like this one but also has a built in scale that connects to the Hatch Baby app--which we used for logging feeds, sleep, and diapers (and can be used with Alexa).

    24. OXO Tot Perfect

The BEST! But their travel one is the WORST! lol Ask Annie.

    25. Pam

I've heard people love the papers, we've liked the Huggies (they have this little pocket in the back that we called the "poop catcher". But we also use Hello Bello -- its a subscription one. However, the best wipes are Huggies Naturals--thick, so never tear, and always moist and less chemicals.

    26. Munchkin Brica Magnetic Stretch to Fit Sun Shade - BlackWould Love: 2|Sti

We have this and love it!! But make sure the inside of you car is magnetic. lol. Gabe's Ford Truck isn't. Who knew!?

    27. WiHoo Min

A must have! We have one that clips though---check out your stroller and carseat to see if there is a bar that this can wrap around--when we attached the carseat to the stroller the handle was pushed back so we needed to clip something to the side or shade part.

    28. Mocki

This is a newer brand of strollers but I've heard great stuff.

    29. Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor with Interchange

We have the Eufy and really like it but it's not wi-fi enabled. We tend to always check wirecutter reviews before we buy most anything and the one you registered for has been their top pick for years but the Eufy just came out and is now their top pick

    30. Graco® Pack ‘n Play

I think for the most part all pack n plays are the same and so all do what they intend to do. The travel bassinet is good too. We bought the Guava Lotus because it is the lightest and easiest to set up and comes in a back pack case. It also sits on the ground instead of suspended so "less shake" and less likely to wake, plus it has a cover you can buy to help make it dark when they are sleeping and a zipper to access baby from the side.

    31. 4m

So I have a few friends who got this and said it wasn't worth it. Many ended up returning and getting the cheaper graco swings that basically do the same thing. We almost got it when I was scared he'd never sleep but did the TakingCara Babies stuff and never really needed and when we got a cheap one he actually hated it (it's maybe something you need to introduce really early). We instead used the Baby Bjorn bouncer all-the-time! And I highly recommend something like that instead. It doesn't vibrate or move on its own but there are others like the Nuna's that do.
