They areone of many instructional approaches that situate learning in a meaning-ful task, such as case-based instruction and project-based learning
Many teachers use this approach
According to Piaget (1953), assimilation is when children bring in new knowledge to their own schemas and accommodation is when children have to change their schemas to "accommodate" the new information or knowledge.
sharing information and being able to accommodate to new information
e termcognitive constructivism can connoteambiguous or puzzled reactions fromteachers who are told that they should beusing teaching strategies to promote thisform of learning approach for their stu-dents.
Teachers shouldn't be puzzled about what approaches they are told to teach but be worried about which approach works best for their classroom.
Masters likely had more authority to defi ne who joined the com-munity, and who became recognized as a master
How does this apply to the classroom? is the teaching the master and the students are apprentices?
Learning should be studied using a genetic (developmental) method that allows insight into the process of learning, not just the outcomes.
I agree 100% with this and feel that all learning should follow a method that focuses on the thought and mind when going through the process of learning instead of the outcome. for example, when preparing for a big test, don't just show what will be on it, show the process of what you'll have have to go through to understand what will be on the test.
Representations are, we suggest, in-dexicalized rather in the way that lan-guage is.
I would like to know more about what this means and entails....
If we take learning to be a process of enculturation, it is possible to clarify this distinction and to explain why much school work is inauthentic and thus not fully productive of useful learning.
Students should learn how to be in an environment of different ethnic backgrounds and diversities. It is important for students to be educated on different types of cultures and be open to students who are different from them.
When student teachers enter their first classrooms, the instructional meth-ods, curricula, and resources can be very different from the ones they learnedabout in teacher education programs.
I think this is something very beneficial to know because you never know what to expect when you start student teaching. You could have a teacher who does something totally different from how you just studied and learned from your program or major. It can be intimidating and confusing when you go in with a certain mindset and then end up being thrown off guard when a teacher has a totally different teaching style. It's just best to prepare yourself to be versatile and quick to pick up on different styles.
This is really interesting because a lot of students go through the process of trial and error and learning how to get different things to work. You take many tries and try different methods each time to figure out the problem. Students apply this to their learning abilities of trying different ways to get the answer.
I think this is such a powerful statement. It is very important that we as educators are finding new and efficient ways of learning so that every student can understand and soak in new information. It is so crucial that you know your students and know that everyone learns in a different way and may not be able to understand the way others do.
