      The author cites Eleanor Stern in their article..... "TikTok video essayist" sounds like how I would fluff up my resume instead of admitting that I'm just someone with internet access and an opinion. I'm not saying that Eleanor's opinion is invalid (every opinion is valid), just that attaching a title like that in the article provides the reader with a sense that Eleanor's opinions inherently carry more weight to them. Being on TikTok deriding TikTok is a slippery slope.

      This very much reminds me of the parallel issue of the demise of local/independent print newspapers and journalism. It's becoming increasingly difficult to find information that is not for a national audience. Unfortunately, this seems to be by design.
