Hmm, interesting. I was just thinking that I am not sure how I would feel about this with the paragraph above, since I do not generally seek out additional information on most things, but, then, BAM, I LOVED Firefly and just recently finished binge-watching it again this winter break. I didn't really consider it transmedia, but felt the series was not quite complete. (Full disclosure-I did not check out -nor know- about the comic books...)
Either way, learning comes through exploration and experience.

This reminds me of an app we purchased last summer before we went to Yellowstone. It was called Gypsy Guide and, using GPS when we entered the park each morning, gave us recommendations, facts, stories, and suggestions about which geysers and places of interest to see, which to skip. We had thought about booking a tour, but this was so much better as we could do it on our own time in our own car.
