While the Flat Hierarchie is good for reducing the amount of clicks that a user must execute when navigating to their content, it's drawback is that it can also frusturate the user if there is an overload of content that they must search through. This means that their is no perfect soulution and that developers must understand what their users are doing on the site, and use the best architecture that fits their user's needs. Also, the developer can use a hybrid approach that will use both architectures to best suit the user's needs.

While categorizing can be difficult, ecspecially when dealing with a website that has large content, it is very important to spend time to develop a good plan on how to separate the content. However, this can prove to be difficult when you're dealing with multipe user types that have overlapping content needs.

    1. In recent studies on GUIs, I collected data from over 100 crowdworkers. I often encountered a common issue where some of the data appeared to be from participants who were not performing the tasks diligently.

Using humans to test GUI's can cause issues as not all humans will perform the various tasks at the same level. It's important to understand what sample size is needed to collect an acurate enough data set. It will be interesting to see in the future how AI can make the testing not just more accurate, but to be able to do it more quickly.

Worldwide developer conference 1997.

My oppinion on what Steve Jobs is conveying is that if your trying to selll a products, you should start with the user needs and wants. Rather than trying to package some technology you created, you should have the User drive the technology. This way you spend more time on creating technologies that your customers will actually want.

Tripple Bottom line includes Profit (Economic), Planet (Environmental), and People (Social), which a lot of companies use as a measurement of success. This means that today’s Designers must be cognate of how their design impacts each attribute of the Tripple Bottom line. For example, when designing a part for a vehicle, the part might be better for the environment if it’s 100% made from recyclable material. However, if that recycled part costs too much to make, it might affect the profit.

We are all Designers because we need to find a way to communicate to others and solve our everyday problems. For example, at the beginning of the video we saw two humans who were sitting on the street and displaying their signs that they designed. One sign was asking for money, which was a solution to the problem of needing money.

    1. More problematic are practices such as false claims of store closings, which are unlawful but rarely the target of enforcement actions. At the other extreme are bait-and-switch car ads such as the one by a Ford dealership in Cleveland that was the target of an FTC action.14

Another example I always disliked as an Amazon prime user, is when Amazon displays that they only have a certain number of items left in stock. I sometimes feel like I'm being pressured to make a quick decision on actually purchasing the item. However, Amazon might not be doing anything wrong, but I sometimes feel like they should also add content like we expect another shipment in another couple of days/months.
