    1. at vs. Deep Hierarchies in Information Architecture (IA

I found it interesting that neither flat nor deep hierarchies are automatically better the best structure depends on how users think about and search for information. A good idea is to test navigation with real users early because what seems organized to designers may not match users mental models at all.

I agree with the video and how it shows what makes a site good and what is more important than other things. I agree with the idea of having content split into different categories to make the app more understandable

    1. Qualitative card sorts help researchers understand why users place cards into specific groupings. Researchers often ask users to think out loud to understand their mental models and the reasons behind their groupings. Researchers need to recruit at least 15 participants for this approach. Quantitative card sorts help researchers understand the statistical validity of common groupings. It focuses on how many times people grouped certain cards together. For quantitative studies, we recommend at least 30–50 participants to ensure that results are generalizable to a broader population. If you still aren’t seeing consistent patterns, recruit more participants for the study. Recruiting participants who represent your target audience or current user base is crucial. Aim for a diverse set of participants to ensure a representative sample.

Both of these types of card sorts are very important in their own ways with both giving out different results and different understandings.

    1. While the field has not yet reached the point of fully automating GUI creation with LLMs, I believe it will become possible to implement truly usable GUIs with minimal human intervention by combining them with the reinforcement learning agent-based testing I mentioned earlier.

I agree with this idea and how the GUIs will eventually become fully automated in the near future with close to no human work to be done to create these GUIs. AI is only getting better and over time very soon this will become a real possibility.

    1. I like how Steve Jobs talks about his ideas with user experience and how users come first before anything even the product. It shows how even the best products for businesses can fail just because of user accessibility

    2. David Berman on Sustainable Design Thinking Strategy

Two facts from the video are that only about 30% of the world’s population had internet access at the time the speaker referenced, showing the scale of the digital divide, and that approximately 80% of the tiger population had disappeared within the speaker’s lifetime due largely to habitat loss. These points emphasized both global inequality and environmental sustainability.

    1. conda create -n csi3210 python=3.10 jupyterlab nodejs -y conda activate csi3210

This did not work for me on my mac until i installed the conda using a different command into my terminal first. Then this and all of the rest worked.
