      I really like this point. Just by my own use in this exercise, I'm finding out that I'm replying to my colleagues with affirmations and thanks. I see this also enhancing community building :-)

      Hate to be the pessimist, but as a faculty member, these are the three things that are really challenging to make student appreciate, especially in fully online courses = self-management (not slacking in async space), creativity ("just tell me what I need to do") and working in teams (this usually gets dinged in my evals).

      Reading this also reminds me of an article that along with content, teacher, and student interaction, we should consider "interface" = which tech and what tech is being use to deliver the knowledge & material.
